I am sure that there are plenty of times that my weighted squats need to go deeper (and don't get me started on my pull ups), but by all means, let me know my stuff is turning to shit (because I'll change my shoes and that'll fix the problem).

What's the point
I really hope these posts are not becoming bullshit, but I was noticing something in class the other day. Someone surprised me in the WOD by not finishing the movements (i.e. when you don't fully squat or stand or come all the way up on a sit up or go all the way down on a push up). I always get the idea to say something, but I rarely do, unless it is someone that I know absolutely wants the feedback. Any way, I was going to say something, and probably should have because I think that we get so hooked on the time we do a WOD in we forget about the two components of power. There is a good blog about it on the CFSF site. Maybe our job as friends should be to become the obnoxious asshole that says down or up farther (or "this is first week, don't even try the clean and press workouts.) Even if it is a trainer because time don't mean shit, if the rest of the work isn't done.

Like freddy says..."your time don't mean shit if your form ain't legit."
It just seems that the point of doing work over time should be a focus of doing more work (i.e. more push ups, sit ups etc.) not just less time. The time focus leads to all the fran videos that people talk shit about.
Dude, it's like you're in MY HEAD!
For those of you that belong to this SELECT group of trainees called SFSJ Elite, there is a reason why you were chosen to be here. It's not that you're an ANEAROBIC FREAK (Dominic-joking), but it's that you are a unique individual amongst a general population that does extraordinary things. Every one of you have certain strengths and weaknesses, but ALL have 1 thing in common: YOU WANT TO GET BETTER. I can't say that for everyone that walks through the door. I understand limitations. I do. But you never know what you can do until you try. We are unique as a group because we are a group of individuals that care about whether our teammates get better by holding one another to HIGHER STANDARDS; even if it means subtracting a couple bad reps. That's just my 2 cents.
Ditto to the comments. As coach Rip says "Strength is seen in perfect form." I think an accassional WOD without the timer would be good for form.
Thanks V for keepping us all accountable. That's what it's all about. If it wasn't for you in my face, I'm sure those (assisted) ring dips would have been worse. My arms were shaking and I have a pretty black and blue knee!
I always appreciate constructive criticism. My squats and overall flexibility, while they still suck, have only improved because V doesn't let me half-ass it. Often when you are in the shit storm of the WOD, you can't tell what you are doing right or wrong. If we are helping our brothers and sisters with good intentions, then we will create an atmosphere that will make us all better.
I appreciate good form and echo others requests for constructive criticism. And like V says, we're here because we want to get better...we're not satisfied and always want to improve.
